COURAGE CLASSIC, 40 YEARS OF PASSION

After countless victories in hill-climbing races, at the wheel of brilliant Formula 2 single-seaters, the young Manceau racer Yves Courage couldn't help dreaming of the 24 Hours... Yves experienced Le Mans at the wheel of 2-liter Chevron and Lola prototypes. At the beginning of 1981, he was intrigued by the new regulations that gave rise to the brand-new Group C cars.

With an enthusiasm bordering on recklessness, and thanks to a team of young enthusiasts, some of whom still surround him today, Yves Courage embarked on the adventure of building his own Groupe C, thus becoming part of the great history of Le Mans.

1982 marked both the birth of the new Group C category and that of the first car designed and built by Yves Courage's team (...Yves didn't dare name his car after himself. His first chassis bore the Cougar name until Ford, the brand's owner, encouraged him to finally use his own name).

For over 25 years, the Courage would shine on every endurance championship track in the world, and particularly at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Victory in the overall standings was never to come, but numerous podium finishes and a victory in LMP2 would help to write the legend.

A story that's still going strong, as the Courage team is once again making a name for itself in the fabulous Ferrari trophy... 6 race weekends, 12 events, 7 victories... No comment!

It's your turn to join the Courage Classic team and become part of the legend!
